About the Author
Pamela Carter Joern is a widely-published writer whose work may be
found in
Red Rock Review, South Dakota Review, Water~Stone,
Laurel Review, Feminist Studies,
and Minnesota Monthly. In 2001,
she received a Tamarack Award for her story "Confessions." She is
the recipient of a State Arts Board Fellowship. She is a graduate of
Hamline University's MFA program where her collection of short
stories won a prize for Outstanding Prose Thesis. She teaches writing
at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis.

Pam has also written six plays that have been produced in the Twin
Cities area, most recently
Whatever Happened to Alice James, chosen
by Illusion Theater in 2004 as part of their Fresh Ink Series. In 2006,
she directed an original rock opera,
My Green Eyes, written by Randy
Baker and Doug Weatherhead, which was produced as a benefit for
breast cancer research.

Pam lives in south Minneapolis with her husband Brad. They have
two daughters who will both be married this year. She's delighted that
their family is expanding to include two fine young men and hopes
that they all survive the weddings.

Pam holds two other master's degrees: secondary education and
communications from the University of Nebraska at Omaha; religious
studies from United Theological Seminary. She did an undergraduate
degree in English and speech from the University of Nebraska.

Currently, Pam is working on a second novel.
